The ZGMF-X20A Strike Freedom Gundam RE, sometimes known by its official designation Zero Gravity Mobile Fighter-X20A Strike Freedom Gundam Repair, or simply called the Strike Repair or Old Freedom by the operator and everyone else, was the successor to the ZGMF-X10A Freedom Gundam and the predecessor to the ZGMF-X30A Gundam Exalted Freedom after it was subsequently placed into storage.

The Suit is one of the supporting mobile suits of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED of Tears.

An upgraded version of the "Xiphias" Rail Cannons originally utilized by the original Freedom, it was further refined and enhanced by Terminal Engineers after the Mobile Suit was subsequently taken out of storage. Updated in lieu of current technology, the "Xiphias 3" Rail Cannons sported a greater output and now possessed the capability to fire in short bursts or one super charge. The Rail Cannons were built to be able to swap out the rear skirt armor to make room for storing its beam rifles and was modified to the extent that it was able to fire underwater, which gave it a powerful advantage over underwater MS and vessels.
