The GTS (Guard-Terra Ship) Nikos is an experimental Guard-Terra ship, created by the Gundam Development Center in Mobile Suit Gundam Nova. It is initially captained by Samuel Dalton in Gundam Nova, before being captained by Professor Charles Guildman in Mobile Suit Gundam Nova: Zenith.
History[]
The Nikos was initially created by the staff of the Gundam Development Center for use as a flagship for Guard-Terra during the first Terra War.
Developed after the first four Gundams, the Nikos was designed as a flagship that would be able to carry and launch the Gundams during the war. Like the Gundams, the ships computer systems were designed by Charles Guildman, with the mechanical systems being designed by Helena Masuda.
The Nikos was launched on 10th March 195IC, when Imperial forces attacked, and eventually destroyed the GDC, the staff, as well as Professor Guildman and Helena, were evacuated to the Nikos, under the protection of the Gundams.
Once it was in space, the Nikos became the center of Guard-Terra's military campaign. After a few battles, including protecting a small farming village on Earth, and defending a small mining colony, it docked at Varelis 4, the center of Guard-Terra's forces, to resupply.
After that, it was part of many different anti-empire operations, and eventually was a critical part of large-scale battles like the Battle of Varelis 4 and the final Battle of Earth.
After the Empire was defeated, the Nikos was retired, initially in a war museum, until it mysteriously vanished.
Once the EFS Starlight docked at Labada Colony, following instructions from Zeren Seigerou, the Nikos is discovered to have been taken back by the remaining Guard-Terra forces, and Professor Guildman is made its new captain.
